Getting the Blog Back Up and Running :)

12 years ago I started a blog called Raising Little Women where I shared recipes, book reviews, art projects, the daily happenings in our life and pictures, lots of pictures.  As the girls got older I didn’t share much of the going ons in the Tuck house. I just felt like they were not my stories to share anymore. And I didn’t want them to feel embarrassed by something I posted. But here we are a couple years later and I miss blogging, y’all lol so I’ll hop on here from time to time to share things going on with us, recipes, book reviews and product reviews.

Finally February!

So, the past 2 months have basically sucked. Like bad. Between my back, sickness and hormonal issues I’ve pretty much been home since before Christmas. Part of the time on the couch and part of the time in bed. Today though (finally) I have felt somewhat back to normal. My normal anyway lol

Needless to say, I am so far behind on my monthly and daily challenges. Instead of moving on to my next challenge I’m gonna redo The Minimalism Game in February. I was able to get rid of a lot of things early on and am excited to get rid of even more.

I am so ready for warmer weather! We’ve had 2 really good snows so far this winter and they are calling for snow/ice this weekend (sigh) and from what I understand the groundhog saw his shadow today so we have 6 more weeks of winter.

Just a little reminder to enjoy the every day. Even on those less than perfect days there is so much to be thankful for.

Summer 2017

Our 2017 summer in bullet points & pictures 🙂

The girls went into town and watched the Independence Day parade.
Days were spent by the pool.
Emily and Audrey went to the Homeschool prom. It was pretty awesome.
We took a family vacation to the beach late April early May.
We ate dinner at The Wahlburgers Restaurant at Myrtle Beach.
Audrey and I went to a Sam Hunt concert with a couple of her friends for her Bday.
We also went to see Luke Bryan and Brett Eldridge. Pretty awesome concert.
Emily graduated high school. How is that possible?

Gingerbread Houses 2016

We are counting the days down to Christmas! This is probably about the 15th year I’ve had little fun things for the girls to do each day as we near Christmas. And today was Christmas Craft Day / Let’s make Gingerbread Houses.

Even though the girls are much older now they still get excited turning each tag over to see what fun thing we have planned for the day. It is much harder though with their busy schedule but I want to take advantage of every opportunity to create fun and happy memories for them to look back on when they are older. And who knows, maybe we’ll still be doing this when they are in their twenties!

On January 21st Emily turned seventeen. SEVENTEEN! I have been a mom for seventeen years! Oh, my goodness! I’m supposed to still be seventeen!  winter 2016 (19 of 36)

We had a pretty low key day since she had to work and we were expected to get hit with snow. She got up and opened her presents from me, David, Audrey & Sarah then they all headed into work with David.  The staff ended up going out for lunch to celebrate her and another man’s birthday. Her favorite…… Japanese food. I remember being told when the girls were little, the days are long but the years are short. I never realized just how true those words are until this year. Two drivers and the baby just hit double digits. Wow.  24513514331_6d471115fb_z

Emily is not a big cake eater so we got a Baskin-Robbin ice cream cake. I can’t believe how expensive those things are. But after having a slice, worth.every.penny. Yum!  Untitled                           She had to humor her momma and pose for a birthday picture.

Snow Day!

A week or so ago we had a pretty nice little snowstorm come through. The first couple days we were pretty much stuck at home because the roads were so bad. As soon as we were able to get out the girls were ready for some sledding!

And what good is a snow day if you can’t start a snowball fight with your sister.

I love the snow but I love it so much better when it is gone!

Hello, Blog! It sure has been a while

So, here I am again, back to the blogging scene. I’m forever saying, I’m getting back to it, but it just never works out. I really need to more of an effort into it. I love going back and reading old posts and remembering those times.

So, here’s a little bit of what’s been going on the the Tuck house. Bullet style. These are mostly pictures from my phone, or ones I stole from David, so the quality may not be the best since I’m still learning how to edit, upload, and post those.

We have a new driver! Audrey got her permit back in August. She is finally getting to where she wants to drive. Slow going at first. But when you have an older sister as your taxi driver, is there really any need?

We took a little trip to the beach back in the fall. By far it was one of our best trips. Unfortunately, this is the only picture I could find. But hey, who doesn’t love color.

I finally got around to making homemade strawberry icing. ohmygoodness! It seriously is the best thing ever!

The girls each came up with their own Halloween costume. I’d say they pretty much rocked it!

Sarah wanted a little room makeover for her 10th birthday. We put up bunkbeds, painted, bought new things for her to hang and painted this super cool chalkboard on her wall. Love it!  Untitled

The girls have fallen in love with crafting. Emily has really gotten into hand lettering, Audrey makes the most awesome wreaths, and Sarah just kind of does her own things, whatever she is in the mood for that day.

That’s pretty much what’s been going on around here. And school, of course. This year we have an 11th grader, 10th grader and a 4th grader. Yikes! I remember when the hardest thing for them to do was count to ten! Now we’re into all the hard stuff that is waaaayyyy over my head.

Looking forward to catching up with y’all!
