We Have Grass

A month or so ago David and a friend of ours reseeded the yard. When we first moved into this house, 11 years ago,  we had grass. Then it all died. We tried putting new seed out but because of the dry conditions DROUGHT we could never get it to grow.

Until now.

The girls LOVE it! Who knew grass could make a  9, 7 & 2 year old so HAPPY!

Even though David will be mowing twice or more a week now, instead of the once or twice a month, he is tickled pink green. He loves it! I’m hoping for a riding lawn mower, not that I get to mow or anything. I just know it will make it easier on David. Or Emily, who is nine and is ready to start learning how to mow. According to David. Which is fine. I’m okay with that. It’s just that when we didn’t have grass and I wanted to mow, I couldn’t. Because apparently, my mowing is not good enough. He says, I’m more of an inside kinda girl.

Here’s Sarah all nice and clean after rolling around in the grass.

Wishing you a wonderful day!

{Our Weekend}

As usual, our weekend went by WAY too fast.

Friday night we went to Ron & Sherri’s house (brother in law) to celebrate my nephew Austin’s 13th birthday. I took my camera BUT forgot to take pictures of the birthday boy!

Late Saturday morning, David’s mom came over and we celebrated her birthday. Since she mentioned a while back that she has not had her favorite pie in a while, chocolate with meringue, I wanted to try and make one. It actually turned out very yummy. I’ve never made meringue before so I did not know what to expect or how long it would take for “peaks to form”  Didn’t even know what that meant until I pulled out my cookbook that has “how to” pictures. Anyway, here is my first ever Chocolate Meringue pie ~ yummy!

Saturday evening we went to the Ladies Spring banquet at church and what a wonderful time we had. The speaker was awesome! The food was delicious! And the fellowship was wonderful!

My yummy plate of food! Wayne prepared the meal for the evening and it was scrumptious {I am tired of using the word yummy so I did a search in the thesaurus and scrumptious came up ~ so if big words starts popping up here on my blog just know that I have been playing at dictionary.com}

I can’t believe in 15 days we will celebrate our 13th wedding anniversary!

There you have it, that was our weekend.

Pictures, Sarah & Prayers

Remember last week how I was complaining about Photobucket? Well, I so love it today! Did you know it can actually capture your thoughts? Just look at what sweet little Natalie is thinking.! Seriously, it is like your own little mini photoshop.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
My prayer life has not been the best these past couple of months. It is just so hard to set aside time during the day with all the chaos that goes on around here. (David and I talked the other day and we are going to start setting aside time for me in the evenings once he gets home.) Tuesday I believe it was, I just really felt like I needed to spend some time in prayer. Emily & Audrey were outside and Sarah was playing. I asked her if she would like to pray with mommy. She said, yeah, sure mommy. (that’s her reply now to everything)We sat in the chair and within a few minutes she started whispering, say amen mommy. When I didn’t, she said it again. Then she just started repeating it over and over. I started thinking maybe she wasn’t the best prayer partner to have.
Last night after Sarah and I got in the bed, she asked me, mommy you pray for Sarah, Natalie and Gracie. So we prayed for a minute. Then she wanted to pray for Emily and Audrey. And I gotta tell ya, it was the sweetest little prayer! Normally, she will pray over dinner, but it’s always thank you for this food and help us have a good day. But last night she surprised me with her words and how complete her thoughts were.
So, now I’m thinking she is the best prayer partner to have. She just likes ’em short and sweet.
